Award-winning wedding photojournalism in the Pacific Northwest

When Kat and Wes said “I do” along the Columbia River, tucked between Portland and Seattle, their intimate garden wedding at a private riverfront home was the perfect place for a celebration that felt timeless, relaxed, and deeply personal.

As wedding photojournalists, Matthew and I (Sam) approach each wedding day with a focus on genuine storytelling. Our goal is not just to take pretty pictures, but to create an honest visual record of the fleeting moments that make up your once-in-a-lifetime day. From the maid of honor struggling to get a flower girl's necklace untied while the girls played getting ready before the ceremony to the joy on Kat and Wes’s faces as they walked back down the aisle, our aim is to create storytelling photography as it unfolds organically and naturally.

So many moments photographY: A Husband-and-Wife Wedding Photojournalist team

What makes our work a little different is that we photograph every wedding as a team. I photograph, like most photographer do, in color while Matthew has photographed exclusively in black and white for years now. He feels he can see composition and light in a different way with a monochrome viewfinder. His perspective brings an emotional, timeless layer to the wedding story. During post-production, I often bring his images back into full color and switch my own into black and white as is fit to do, but our clients get two wedding collections in their private galleries. One Black and White Collection + one Color Collection, it's one of the many things that makes our wedding photography service so unique.

This dual approach means our couples walk away with not just twice as many photographs as a single photographer could attain, but a richness to their story, layered by having two very different artists documenting their same fleeting wedding day. While Matt and I have individual styles, we both create work that strives to be artistic and honest. You’re not only getting two award-winning photographers, you’re getting two perspectives of your love story, two creative visions, and double the coverage on one of the biggest days of your life.

luxury Wedding Photojournalism That Travels Anywhere

We’re honored to currently be in the running for one of the Top Wedding Photographers of 2025 with the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association), an international photography organization that celebrates the art of authentic storytelling in wedding photography. This recognition reflects our dedication to documenting weddings as they truly happen: no forced moments, just real stories.

While Kat and Wes’s Eastern Washington wedding was an incredible celebration quite close to home here in Sandpoint, Idaho, we’re available to document weddings absolutely anywhere in the world. Whether you’re planning a lakeside celebration in North Idaho, a vineyard wedding near Portland, a city celebration in Seattle, or a destination wedding abroad, we never charge travel fees. We let our love of picking up our cameras take us just about and anywhere and everywhere a love story is unfolding.

We want to bring your wedding love story to life too

Kat and Wes’s day reminded us, once again, why we do this work. Every wedding is a new chance to bear witness to joy, love, and human connection. If you’re searching for a wedding photographer in North Idaho, Eastern Washington, or anywhere your love story leads, we’d be honored to tell your story with the same care and artistry.
