When you have a baby (or four), it's natural for a photography business to take a backseat for a while. The last two boys have been so close in age that I really put the brakes on my career as a wedding photographer. So, when Beth contacted me about photographing her wedding, the request felt out of the blue. Because it was.
She'd found me in the best way a client ever could, through seeing my work and seeking me out. It turned out we had a mutual friend I'd photographed for his wedding across the country from here, but we were in the very same town of Sarasota, FL. I said yes to documenting her beautiful celebration and so glad I did.
Beth and Andrew had the most intimate, thoughtful, and beautiful beach side wedding ceremony and dinner party reception at the Sarasota Ritz-Carlton beach club on Lido Key. Just their favorite of favorite family members and friends were included in the guest list, and it made for a low-drama wedding day focused on what mattered most, them tying the knot.
Now that I'm done rearing my babes from infancy, I'm ready to wake back up to the world of weddings in such a new way. My boys are well into leave-with-grandma age, and it opens a new chapter for Matthew and I to continue to expand our wedding portfolio. I'm looking forward to what this next era of wedding photojournalism will bring to us. And grateful this in-the-middle-of-it-all wedding brought me Beth the bride as a new friend.
